Help others with tax prep and make a difference in the community!
What is VITA?
VITA is an IRS national program that provides free, quality tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income families and individuals throughout our 13-county footprint.
Our volunteers prepare tax returns for taxpayers who qualify for VITA assistance. All volunteer tax preparers are trained and IRS certified. These volunteers can come from a large variety of backgrounds – they don’t need to be accountants or CPAs. Are you detail-oriented, meticulous, and good with people? We offer several training avenues for your convenience.
How can you make a difference?
Simple. Help your community in preparing taxes free of charge by becoming a volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. By becoming a VITA volunteer, you will have a direct impact on the financial well-being of thousands of households in your community by helping them maximize their refund and receive one of the largest paychecks they’ll receive all year, their tax refund!
Evening and daytime hours are available, and you can choose from multiple locations. Volunteer hours are flexible based on your availability.
